Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer

The Makeup Revolution stand is something that I can never resist taking a peep at in Superdrug, it is so hard to leave without something due to the amount of bloggers that highly rate their products. On this particular trip I left with a Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer in the shade Keep Lying for You. At only £3 it was definitely worth trying!

I have not tried the Lime Crime Velvetines but I can imagine this product would be a great dupe at a fraction of the cost. Makeup Revolution have definitely created an amazing product here - it goes on so so opaque and dries perfectly matte. The product is so easily to apply too with the help of a lip brush to make clean lines. Another plus for me is that the product stays on for so long however if it does come off (I do not see how) your lips are left stained therefore still providing colour. I can totally see how some people would find this annoying though.

The only negative about this product is that you can really feel the product on your lips. So sad to find a fault is such a pigmented, matte, long lasting product. It clung to the inside of my lips and was so dry there which made eating very uncomfortable. Maybe I just had dry lips? I have no idea but it really made me want to take the lip lacquer off...

Anyway this product is amazing for £3, I now just have to decide if I can handle the horrible feeling on the inside of my lips again. I guess just a lot of exfoliation and lip balm will be needed before I next apply this product!

Have you tried a Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer?

  1. the same happens with a few of my Sleek matte glosses. I always put on lip balm the night before, so that my lips are well moisturised. Dont put lip balm before applying this, your lips will be glued together, not nice ;)

  9. I love the shade so much! It's such a shame how drying it is, I don't think I could wear it as my lips get quite dry anyway. It could work with lip balm underneath?

  14. I have a Limecrime Velvetines but I've not tried MUR's version so can't compare but from your description it does sound like it would be a great dupe. The only difference I guess would be that you can't feel the Velvetines on your lips at all. This is such a gorgeous shade.
