Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit

Contouring has been something that I have really been looking into recently and with my current bronzer being 2+ years old, it was definitely time to make a new purchase! When in Boots my lovely boyfriend picked me up the Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit in fair after me making a few hints. I have had my eye on this for a while and never realised it only costs £5.99. Here is what I think:

First of all I absolutely love the packaging, it actually reminds me a lot of Nars. It is very sturdy which definitely beats my cardboard Bourjois one (I still love it though). I am thankful that the kit comes in a fair option as it is so hard to find bronzers that are not way to dark or orange for me. The shade is perfect and applies like a dream, it is so smooth and blends beautifully. My only moan about this product is the highlight shade, as I am so pale it is pretty much the same colour as my skin tone therefore does not have any illuminating properties on my skin whats so ever. However it does make a great brightening under eye powder and I have been looking into getting one for a while! I will definitely be sticking to my Makeup Revolution highlighter to try fake my 'cheekbones'. So overall I really recommend this kit, at such a small price tag it looks and feels so much more expensive.

My Current Go-to Palettes

Can you really have enough neutral palettes? I think that all of the ones that I own come under that category. However recently I have stuck to the same two, probably out of ease as both feature such wearable colours. My favourites contain shades that are perfect for Autumn/winter therefore I can definitely see myself sticking to them all through the season. Here they are:

Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 - £4

This palette is great as it features many shimmery colours but also a few mattes, including a black with is essential to me as I set my eyeliner with it. I think that you can tell which shade is my favourite in this one... it is such a gorgeous shimmery brown. Everyday I use this colour over my Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon shadow stick in Dark Pearl and it creates such a stunning yet wearable shade. The palette is perfect for the festive period due to lovely gold shades, just add a berry lip and you are ready! I still cannot get my head around the fact that these palettes are only £4, thats crazy! Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette - £23

I purchased this palette on a bit of a whim really. At the time, I already owned my Naked 3 palette and had no interest in the basics... until I saw it was featured on Cohorted for around £18. Since then I cannot stop using it! It has to be my only all matte palette and I love it. The taupe tone to all of the shadows is really what drew me in as all of the shades are just so gorgeous. I find myself reaching for this palette as they are so creamy and blend together beautifully. Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara

This is definitely my holy grail brow product and for only £4.99 it is quite a bargain. It can either be used on top of brow powder which creates a really defined look but also just by its self which keeps my brows in place and also keeps them looking natural. Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Dark Pearl

I have used this product nearly every day that I have worn eye shadow since I purchased it in February. It is beyond pigmented and makes the perfect base. The price is a bit steep for me, this being £19, however I would definitely buy another one considering I still have more than half of the product left after using it so frequently!  NYX Lip Pencil in Nude Beige

Again, this is something that I use pretty much everyday. It glides on to the lips so smoothly and is such a gorgeous colour. I also love how it goes with so many lipsticks that I own therefore a million different liners is not needed. My lips are tiny and this pencil makes it easy to over draw them a little while still making them look natural which is a massive bonus to me!

YSL Les Sahariennes Sun Kissed Blur Perfector

Now this is the priciest product at £31 and there is most likely a cheaper option out there... but I just love it! The product applies as a creme and dries to a powder making it a dream to blend with either my real techniques sponge or a contour brush. It is also easy to build and the colour is beautiful, not leaving me looking muddy. 

Makeup Revolution Highlighter in Peach Lights

I had never tried a highlighter before buying this and simply went for one from Makeup Revolution because of the tiny price of £3. It is such a great quality product and is even just beautiful to look at. When applied it leaves a slight bit of glitter on the cheek along with a gorgeous sheen. Definitely worth investing £3!

Subtle Spring Purples Using Makeup Revolution

I do not know about you but when I think of spring makeup purple eyes and pink lips immediately come to mind. Isn't this Makeup Revolution palette in Romantic Smoked perfect for that? The look that I created ended up being very subtle in the way of purples, however this actually means I will be more likely to wear it. Here are the products I used:

1. First I applied the  shimmery slightly lilac shade all over my lid (5th from left)

2. I then added a true purple to my crease and blended it out (6th from left)

3. The khaki shade (8th from left) was then applied to my outer v. I just adore this shade when it is combined with purples, the love for khaki is not just in clothing in my case!

4. Finally I applied winged liner, black liner on my lower lid using shadow and mascara. Pink Plaid lipstick from Mac was also applied to my lips, definitely my go to pink lipstick right now.

This is definitely a look that I could just put on really quickly in the mornings, that's when I can actually be bothered to put eyeshadow on... Makeup Revolution Romantic Smoked Palette

A few months back I purchased the Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 palette and immediately fell in love. If you are interested I wrote a review which can be found here. Honestly it has been used nearly everyday since it was bought therefore, another purchase was on the cards. This time the Romantic Smoked palette was my pick. Did it live up to my iconic 2 though? Here are my thoughts:

As you can tell the highly pigmented shadows of the Iconic 2 definitely carried on to this palette. However a few of the lighter shades are a bit disappointing but for £4 you really can not complain. The slightly darker shades make up for this though! There are a mixture of mattes and shimmers in which is great as it gives you choice. I love putting a shimmery shade on my lid and then a slightly darker matte in the crease. However with this palette my typical combination is all matte, so unusual for me. This look features the 5th from the right shade on my lid and 4th from the right in my crease and wow, its so gorgeous I promise! Khaki is quickly beginning to be one of my favourite colours to wear on my eyes and before I would have never have thought to go near the shade. The primary reason that this palette was picked up was due to me having green eyes and wanting to experiment with purples which are said to make the colour pop. So far I am really impressed, Makeup Revolution has done it again.

I highly recommend both of the palettes that I have tried. Both are great for day and night and so many different looks can be creates. For £4 they are such a bargain!
