Tropical in Autumn

So the other day I was out taking photos of my niece for a uni project and thought - why not take an outfit photo? However I totally chose the wrong kind of day to do it! Out of many windswept photos I only got one half decent one but I loved my outfit so much I thought that a post would still have to go up!

Dress - New Look
Cardigan - Primark
Boots - New Look
Socks - Asda

windswept and interesting?

I bought this tropical print dress at the start of summer and I am so glad that I can still wear it. Probably not for much longer though. This slouchy Primark cardigan has been constantly worn by me recently, I just love it! It definitely makes any outfit. I realise that my boots aren't really shown in these photos, I was too busy focusing on  the wind! but here is the link to my previous blog post on them. Finally frilly socks look good with almost every outfit! I got these little grey ones from Asda last year and constantly wear them. Primark sell loads too.

Have you ever tried taking an outfit photo in really bad weather?

New Look - Everyday Chunky Boot

How gorgeous are these boots? And for £24.99 you just cant go wrong. New Look has always been one of my favourite places to look for shoes and when I went in and saw these I definitely wasn’t disappointed. I have been on the hunt for my winter boots for this year for ages! The chunky heel is something which I have loved since last winter so I am beyond happy to finally own a pair of everyday boots like this. So far I have worn them with dresses and trousers so really they are so versatile. They also come in burgundy which I was so so tempted to buy but I think black will be easier to wear. Look out for many outfits coming up that include these, I am officially in love!

Cute Halloween Decor

Halloween is definitely one of my favourite occasions, I just love choosing an outfit and seeing all of the decorations in store. One thing I never do but I may next year is decorating my house on the lead up to the day. There are so many cute home decor items out there, specifically on Etsy. How cute are the spider web pillows (6)? They would be worth purchasing as they could be used year after year. I also love the candle holder from Yankee (7), it must be hard to make something cute while still being covered in cobwebs! I love wine glasses that are themed for an occasion therefore number 10 is perfect. Finally who doesnt like fairy lights(1)? you have to admit the pumpkins are cute!

Herbal Essences - Moroccan My Shine

Herbal essences shampoo and conditioners have impressed me so much lately, specifically the Bee Strong range.  I picked up the Moroccan My Shine conditioner as it is designed to nourish damaged and dull hair, exactly what I have. I love the fact that it contains argan oil as I have heard a lot about this doing wonders for other peoples hair, I just have yet to try it myself so this conditioner was a good taster of that. So far my hair has been left so soft and silky! Overall I would highly recommend this conditioner as it makes a huge difference to fried hair, I am actually considering buying it again with the matching shampoo. If you know me this is a huge deal because I always change my hair products!

Easy Uni Outfit

I have recently made a new twitter especially for my blog, it would be so appreciated if you check it out here!

Top – Primark
Blazer – New Look
Treggings – TK Maxx
Necklace – H&M
Slip ons – Dune

This has been my most relied on outfit recently as it is just so simple and comfy. The tshirt is from Primark and has been reused from my summer wardrobe, so worth the money. My blazer has also been featured in many of my posts recently, being only £20 it was definitely a bargain! It wasn’t even on sale! Being a poor student my shoes have also been transitioned from my summer wardrobe to my winter one.  It was my first ever purchase from Dune and I can say that I am really happy with them! They are just so easy to slip on and go with absolutely everything.

Lush Purchase

 Sakura
Shoot for the Stars

Ah Lush, you got me again. Since moving into a flat that has a bath, Lush has become my obsession again. The range in store is amazing especially the bath bombs which are my favourite products to buy. Usually I buy the Dragons Egg bath bomb but as I only bought that a few weeks ago I thought that I would venture out. First of all I picked up Shoot for the Stars (£3.50), in all honestly this was because it was the last one left.  This means it must be good then huh? I am rubbish at identifying scents but online it says that it smells like the 'Hunny I Washed the Kids Soap' which I have never actually smelled before but judging from this I think I would love. I cant wait to put this in my bath as it states you should watch it ‘shoot and spin’ Exciting! I also bought Sakura (£3.35) which I have wanted for a while. The blue and pink colours in this are simply gorgeous! Online it describes the scent as floral but it also contains lemon oil and orange flower. I can already tell that my bath will be a beautiful colour. Next on my list is Snow Fairy, whos list is this not on? Oh and Santas lip scrub is screaming my name!

Slouchy Cardi

**Still no internet, having major problems with the installation!

Shirt – TK Maxx
Treggings – TK Maxx
Cardigan – Primark
Necklace – H&M
Shoes – Ebay

This cardigan is my new favourite thing to wear and it was only £12 from Primark! It is so slouchy and comfortable yet I still think it really makes an outfit. It goes with almost everything.  My plaid shirt is from TK Maxx, I cant remember how much it was but it was not expensive. As much as I praise this type of shirt, this is only the second one that I have ever owned! Shocking huh? However I am majorly happy that I finally bought another one. As much as I love these shoes, they have been seriously neglected as they have just been sat at the back of my wardrobe. It is my mission to incorporate them into more outfits, shouldn’t be hard though because I absolutely love them!

Autumn Staples - Patterned Umbrellas

It goes without saying that in Scotland an umbrella in Autumn is essential! The last few days I have been using my scruffy, plain black one that is on its last legs. I decided to look up some patterned ones and wow, there are so many out there. You can probably guess which one is my favourite if you read my blog often.. the tartan one (6). Its not a bad price either at £12. I also love the Cath Kidson umbrellas on offer right now (4), I am a sucker for one of her prints. How beautiful is number 1? the pink is so lovely! I have also noticed many clear ones are on offer (7,8) for some reason I always see these as being much more durable even though I have never owned one. The bird cage is mega cute! If you arent keen on a fully patterned umbrella then one such as 5 is always an option, I love the look of a pattern just around the edge.

10 Things That I Would Tell My 15 Year Old Self

Being 19 you wouldnt think that I had much to say to my 15 year old self but wow, there's so much. Here is my list of 10 things that stand out to me. I would even go as far to say that my 17 year old self should have known some of these points!

1. Do not, I repeat do not straighten and back comb the life out of your hair. It will snap off and take you years to grow back. When you notice a difference in the length do something about it and don't just ignore it.

2. Your family mean absolutely everything to you, do not take this for granted. When you move away to uni you will soon realise how much you miss them so cherish your time.

3. Nobodies opinion of you matters so you really don't need to care about them. Speak up in school and don't just be quiet because you think anything you say will be judged.

4. You are far from being over weight, so don't think that. Take advantage of eating anything you want a not put on the pounds, believe me that will change. Oh and when you go to the beach in the middle of summer its okay to have some body on show, those leggings must be cooking you.

5. Stop skipping school. It sucks I know but if you work really hard then you can get good grades and hopefully get an amazing future job.

6. Practising putting a full face of makeup on and then wiping it off every night is definitely a waste of time, put more time into other things. Maybe a hobby? job interviews are so awkward when you get asked what your hobby is and all you can say is lying in bed.

7. On a similar note - dont waste your time on 'friends' who do not actually care about you. Having a few bests friends is waaaay better than being part of a group who don't bother with you.

8. If you want to wear your extensions, please at least make them look natural! Hair that looks like this is not nice..unless you are going for a doll look with that bow.

9. Your mum is and will always be your best friend. She brought you up by herself so now is the time to start appreciating it. She will do anything for you and you know that you would for her so show it sometimes. It doesnt always have to be a row when you don't get your own way.

10. Finally why get a black carpet when you have a white dog? even though she is not allowed in your room does not mean that the hairs wont stick to peoples feet. You will spend so much of your precious time working up a sweat trying to hoover this. Just dont do it okay?

What would you tell your younger self?

Soda Stream Play

My mum recently bought a Soda Stream Machine Jet for £54.99  (currently £49.99 at Argos, link here) and I became addicted to using it. They are literally so easy and quick to use. My step dad kindly bought me the Soda Stream Play in red as a present for going back to uni with, this is priced at £69.99 (link here). The white one, which has to be my favourite colour, has £10 off right now! Here is how to work the machine and what I think of it:

First of all the design of the Play model is very bulky which some people may not love, however it does have a retro look so that kind of makes up for it. The model comes with a gas cylinder which is inserted into the back and its ready to go!

First of all the 1 litre bottle full of cold water has to be inserted. This is so easy as it locks itself in and does not need to be held. Then the front top part (no idea what to call it) is pressed down for 2-3 seconds and then lifts itself up. For a high fizz I do this 4 times. You then simply remove the bottle, add a cap full of the syrup that you want to use (I had cola for this one) and turn the bottle upside down to mix. Thats it made!

I personally think that even though this is a bit pricey, it is well worth the money. I still find it amazing that all you need is water and syrup to make your own fizzy drink! The syrup bottles can be bought for around £3 and do up to 12 litres of drink. So glad I have this machine now, my teeth wont be loving me though!

Autumn Staples - Tartan Everything

**I still have no internet, should do by the 9th!

Another reason that I love Autumn is because it is more acceptable to wear tartan! There are actually so many pieces of clothing that I want to buy right now This ranges from dresses such as 1, New Look have so many like this. I particularly love this one as blue and green tartan has to be my favourite. I also really want to buy a tartan pencil skirt (8), I just think that it could be worn dressed up or down. Thats always a good excuse to buy something right? There is no point even rambling on about which pieces from this wishlist that I like best, I want it all! Anyone have a money tree in their garden that I could borrow?

Are you all kitted out for autumn yet ?
