Silkfred Dress Wishlist

Normally Facebook adverts really annoy me, however after the Silkfred one popped up a few times on my feed I decided to check it out. The site features many different boutiques which is great as so much variety and different styles of clothing are on offer. I really am addicted already and its been a few days! When browsing I always have my 21st birthday in my mind so I have put together a wishlist of dresses that I would happily wear to my party. It is just going to be a BBQ and drinks in the back garden but nevertheless, dressing up is still a must!

Pinafore and Stripes

Top - New Look
Pinafore - Daisy Street
Shoes - eBay

I know what you are thinking - a polo neck in spring, really? Well here in Aberdeen it is still so chilly therefore one is definitely needed however, I could get away without wearing a jacket in this outfit which is always good. This pinafore dress was purchased from Daisy Street when the site was having a stock clear out and only ended up costing me around £3. It has sat in my wardrobe for months now and had not seen the light of day until I decided to try it with my New Look stripped top which I ended up loving. Normally this style does not suit me due to my boobs however the fabric of this dress seems to be a little more forgiving, Finally on to the shoes, these were bought from eBay a few years ago and are still going strong. I just love the chunky design and they are extremely comfortable,

Colder Spring Outfit Ideas

Spring time.. I think of pretty dresses and sandals however that is just not the case here in Aberdeen. Yeah the weather has warmed up slightly but most days a coat and tights are still needed, I actually still wear my winter wardrobe! This definitely signifies that my spring wardrobe needs updated asap. In my mind, the best way to do this is by purchasing pieces that could be used in both chilly and warmer weather such as dresses and combining them with jackets and tights for the colder days. Here is some outfit ideas that I would love to rock this spring:

Belted Culottes

These culottes have been sat in my wardrobe for a couple of months now however, they have never been worn as in my mind they did not emphasis my waist enough (and I definitely need a little help with that). This was until I was asked to style this lovely Gant* belt. The pop of red really finalises the outfit and adds that little something extra therefore making me finally fall in love with the culottes. A belt like this could literally spice up any outfit, from a daytime plain tee and jeans to a fancy little black dress, giving it the potential to be a staple in any girls wardrobe. Gant offer many other belts that portray a classic design in different colours such as black, navy and brown therefore you really cannot go wrong investing in one of the company's belts as they are so easy to style. As the belt is of such high quality, I can definitely see me wearing this lovely red shade with so many other outfits in the future. I am also thinking of investing in a black one!

Bodysuit - Boohoo
Culottes - Boohoo
Belt - Gant*
Bag - New Look
Shoes - Asos

I also added my v neck bodysuit in order to make the culottes look more like a jump suit as they are my absolute love right now. Due to the soft and stretchy material of both the top and bottoms, this outfit is beyond comfy while still being shapely due to the belt. Now these shoes, they may look pretty but they are so hard to walk in! Maybe this is just because I am used to a chunky heel.. but we all suffer for fashion don't we? I just feel so grown up and classy in them, just now to practice, practice, practice.

Knee High Boots

Top - New Look
Jeans - New Look
Coat - Primark
Boots - TK Maxx
Hat - eBay

I love a lovely stroll through the woods in Autumn, there is always such beautiful colours about. On this particular day I thought why not take some outfit photos? I teamed my polo necked long sleeved top with plain black jeans. There is just something about this combination with a berry lip that I absolutely love. This was my first time wearing knee high boots and I am just so unsure about them. Do not get me wrong, I love them on other people but with my short, chubby legs they just do not look all that great. I think that I should stick to my heeled boots in the future! These ones are stunning though, the front side features faux leather and the back suede. The hat also was a bit out of my comfort zone but it is so cute! But seriously tell me why I did not notice that I had a twig on my head in all of these photos?

Stripes and Suede

Top - New Look
Skirt - New Look
Boots - yeah you guessed it, New Look

Okay, I promise that I do not live in New Look. Its just a huge majority of my wardrobe recently seems to be from there. The top is a purchase that I made recently as I have always been a fan of striped clothing but never actually owned any. shocking right? Also you can never have too many polo necks in your life. Especially right now as Aberdeen has been absolutely freezing. I also purchased these boots recently as I needed some that have a heel but are not too much of an effort to wear. These ones are perfect and can be worn all day without any discomfort. My skirt was actually purchased last year but I feel like camel suede still has not gone out of fashion. Thank god because I really love it! I could have gone a size or two down in the skirt however I was too excited to wear it at the time and decided that I just had to wear it then and did not have time for an exchange. Highly regret that now...

It's Finally Chunky Boot Time

Dress: Boohoo
Cardigan - New Look
Boots - New Look

It is finally time to dig out my favourite type of footwear again - that being chunky boots. These beauties were a recent purchase from New Look and only cost £29.99 which I could not pass up. They are suede which is something a little different for me as all of my other boots are faux leather. The heel is actually a little higher than I am used to with my other everyday boots, however they are still so comfy! I shopped from 12pm until 8pm and my feet only just started to hurt a little at the end. That is a massive plus. I teamed them with a bodycon white and black stripped dress and my new khaki cardi which has a belt to cinch in the waist. These items of clothing teamed together created such a relaxed, comfortable outfit as both of the fabrics are so light weight and do not restrict me. I am definitely going to be wearing these boots most of winter!

Holiday Outfit #6 - Pineapples

Playsuit - Missguided
Sunglasses - eBay
Sandals - Asda

I immediately fell in love with this playsuit when it popped up on the Missguided website, even more when I realised it was only £8 in the sale. Originally it was purchased as a cover up however it was just too cute not to wear it out and about while on holiday. It is great as it does not have to be accessorised due to the print being so busy therefore there is no fuss needed - something which is essential while on holiday. This piece is definitely staying at the back of my wardrobe until my next holiday, hopefully pineapples will still be as big then!

Holiday Outfit #4 - Palm Print

Top - New Look
Shorts - New Look
Kimono - New Look
Shoes - New Look

I was scared that wearing my kimono in the boiling weather while on holiday would not be possible, thankfully it was a bit cooler at night and I got a chance to rock it (even though I still ended up being a sweaty mess). It was actually bought from New Look last year for my birthday night out but I am still in love with it as much as I was back then. I have an addiction to fringe. I paired it with a simple black crop top and also these amazingly comfy denim shorts. The belt completes the shorts, in my opinion, and it came with them which is a bonus! Finally my trusty black sandals completes the outfit.

Holiday Outfit #3 - Florals

Dress - New Look
Shoes - New Look
Bracelet - Accessorize
Sunglasses - eBay

This has to be one of my favourite outfits that I wore on holiday as it just looks so girly but was so comfortable on. The dress is such a light material which felt amazing in the heat! The cut out shoulders also provided some relief. I am telling you, it was so hot. I love the cute floral pattern, mainly the colours as I just think that they work so well together. The sandals were a sale purchase from New Look and although I love the way they look, they were not the comfiest. Lets just blame that on my broad feet as it was the front strap that was too tight. My bracelet is actually one I wear to work but it was too pretty not to take on holiday with me. Saying that, I took so many necklaces with me for that reason but only wore one...

Holiday Outfit #2 - Mint and Black

Top - New Look
Shorts - Boohoo
Shoes - New Look
Bag - New Look
Sunglasses - eBay

This outfit is so simple but was beyond comfy. I knew as soon as I started holiday clothes shopping (about 4 months too early) that black runner shorts were an essential. These ones were a bargain at just £10. The only problem with them is that the waistband kept twisting which was rather annoying. I teamed them with this mint coloured crop top which was in the sale for £5 - which was another great deal. I was so happy with how well this bag went with the outfit as it was unintentional... its bad but while on holiday I tend to not worry which bag goes best, its usually more about practicality. The price of the bag carries on the bargain aspect of this post as it only cost £12 down from around £25 (I think). A necklace is also included in this outfit however I just noticed now that it cannot really be seen. Really it was just a necklace with square white stones and a gold chain, you get the gist.

Don't you just love bargains?

Holiday Outfit #1 - Bardot and Denim

Top - New Look
Shorts - New Look
Sunglasses - eBay
Shoes - New Look (last year)

I wish that I could say that my paleness in these photos is due to them being taken on the first day of my holiday... but really reality is that I did not tan at all while in Malaga for 2 weeks. Bummer. The holiday was still amazing though and I am so sad to be back.

This top was only around £10 which is such a bargain, I think it might even be in the sale now! At first I thought that it would constantly need adjusted but it actually was not too bad. I just find it is so flattering due to the frill and also how it is elasticated at the bottom which sinches in my waist. The shorts were also a bargain at around £9 down from £22. I am telling you, the New Look sale definitely got to my bank account this year. They were really comfy though and not stiff like some denim shorts are. Finally my shoes were just comfy black sandals that were worn most of the holiday!

What We Wore - My 20th Birthday Night Out

Last weekend me and my boyfriend celebrated our 20th birthdays (his on the 25th and mine today) by going on a night out. As of today I can now say I am 20 which is so strange to me, I feel like growing is up is something that I have to actually do now. Maybe its time to start booking my own dentist and doctors appointments instead of making my mum do it... Anyway here is what me and my sister Jen decided to wear:

                 Me (left): Playsuit - Missguided
                           Shoes - Miss Pap

                        Jen: Playsuit - New Look
                             Shoes - New Look
                        Bag- New Look

How beautiful is the colour of my playsuit? It totally reminds me of Cinderella for some reason! It cost £35 from Missguided and at the time of ordering there was an offer for 30% off of party wear, therefore I knew that I had to snatch up the chance of getting it for slightly cheaper. It was so comfortable on except for when I needed the toilet in the club... definitely needed someone to assist me with the zip. I did accessorise it with lovely crystal and blue earrings but sadly I totally forgot to photograph them. I added my white heels that I got for £5 in the sale which was an absolute bargain. They are so comfy and I am just completely in love with them. I also added a white envelope clutch bag which matched the heels perfectly but me being a bad blogger (once again) forgot to photograph it. I'm sorry!

Moving on to Jen's outfit, she also wore a lovely playsuit but this time from New Look. I love the khaki colour of it which is a major trend right now. It may be making its way from her wardrobe to mine soon... Her shoes are chunky, glittery black heels which looked beyond comfy yet the heel was still a good height. I can just imagine that these would look so good with not only this outfit but also in the festive season. Finally she accessorised with her black fringe back which I also may have to 'borrow'.

Outfit Ideas - 20th Birthday

Even though I look about 12 years old, on the 30th July I will turn the big 2-0. I've always been one to get excited for my birthdays and have to have plans! This year I most likely will be going on a night out however there is no harm is virtually planning other outfits is there? These obviously can work for any occasion, let me just say that I want it all (which is never gonna happen):

Night Out

How gorgeous is this playsuit? I snatched it up when Missguided had 30% off of their party section as it was just to pretty to let it pass. The shade of blue has to be my all time favourite colour as it is just so lovely, also it matches the white accessories so well! I kept jewellery simple with these stud earrings as the playsuit does all of the talking itself with the beautiful lace. Finally I think the white shoes and bag finishes off the outfit perfectly!

Shopping and Dinner

I need to own this outfit, just love it! The dress is stunning and definitely could work through many seasons. The flared sleeves are a mega trend right now and give off the perfect 70's feel. The shoes are also a dream! The moment that I saw them in Topshop I fell in love, I just cannot justify spending £35 on them right now which is so sad. As the dress is so busy a long delicate necklace would look great with it. Finally I just had to finish the outfit with a floppy  hat!

BBQ

Here goes the blue again! This skirt is simply gorgeous and would look perfect paired with this white lace top. I thought that a floral garland would just add to this feminine look and this particular one has such beautiful colours. Garlands are definitely a favourite of mine this summer. The chunky heels would be perfect with this outfit to add length to my short legs (don't we all feel slimmer in heels?) and look like they would be rather comfy, thats if heels can even be comfy!

Sleeveless Duster

Top - New Look
Duster - New Look
Jeans - Topshop
Boots - Schuh
Necklace - New Look

Duster jackets have to be one of my favourite fashion items right now... they are just the perfect spring/summer and even autumn attire. I love this idea of pairing one with an all black outfit so that the duster is the real focus. You can also purchase them for such low prices from places like New Look and Boohoo... I want one in every colour! I added my layered necklace to add a little something to the outfit as it definitely needed some sort of jewellery. Sorry that you can hardly see the chain in the photo, the black on black just did not pick up I am afraid but you get the jist. I cannot wait to feature more summery outfits on my blog, it just so happens right now that I have been working every day in which the sun has appeared!

Deleted Photos and Typical Night Out

Top - Asos
Skirt - New Look
Kimono - Cameo Rose
Heels - New Look

This outfit was not actually going to make it into a post (hence why it is so grainy) however the photos I planned to use sadly got deleted from my sisters camera by accident. So please, ignore the crazy hair! I really do not know what was happening there. This is definitely my typical night out look - a fitted skirt, crop tee and a kimono to hide all of my insecurities! I got the skirt a few months back but hardly wear it therefore it was definitely time that it made an appearance. It sinches me in so much at the waist which is great. My crop tee and kimono are a pair and always make it out together, I really need to change it up a bit! Finally I always wear these heels out, they are just so comfy and almost never hurt my feet (except this night of course).

Tropical Monochrome

Shirt - New Look
Jeans - Topshop
Jacket - Primark
Shoes - Dune

My mum handed me this shirt a few months a go however I never took to wearing it... until now. I just love how it is a subtle (ish) tropical print which is perfect for Spring. I added my Topshop Joni jeans as I pretty much live in them, the material is just so stretchy and comfy! A plain black pair are definitely on my list to purchase too. My shoes were actually bought last year and after a few months hibernating in my wardrobe over winter. they are back. The style just pretty much matches everything and they are a dream to wear for a long period of time. Finally my jacket is ancient and was bought from Primark by my sister then passed down to me. Leather jackets are great for spring/summer and they can really just edge up a look, in my opinion anyway.

These photos were taking my my sister Jen, if you want to see more from her feel free to check out her Instagram - molliesofia89
