A Little Bit of Tartan...Again

Dress - Daisy Street
Blazer - New Look
Necklace - H&M
Shoes - Dune

As I mentioned before - I love tartan! This dress was bought last winter and I have been wearing it all year round. I pair it with this New Look blazer (its ancient) often as its not too cold for it yet however I wear my leather jacket sometimes instead. My slip ons are never off my feet and so it is great that they look perfect with this dress! Do I need to talk about the chain? I really need to venture out and stop wearing them ha ha!

The Colossal Go Extreme Mascara Leather Black

**Warning Negative Nancy

I noticed this mascara in Asda on offer for £5 and immediately picked it up, although the fact that it did not have a safety seal put me off a little. The brand states that the 'double pump wand adds an extra shot of volume onto our biggest brush. With 20x collagen, 16x bolder looking lashes with 100% leather black intensity; I have no idea what leather black intensity means but I do not that I am not the biggest fan..

First of all I found that the size of the brush made it hard to use and not get on my eyelids. The first coat applied okay but was not very dark and then when I applied the second coat my lashes just clumped together. Normally I buy lengthening mascaras but surely mascaras that give volume dont normally do this? I had to fix it by separating my lashes with tweezers but as you can see from the picture above some lashes were still stuck together. Maybe if you are looking for a lot of volume and don't mind your lashes clumping or can deal with just one coat then this is for you but I definitely will not be buying it again.

Have you tried this mascara?

Autumn Staples - Leather Jackets

I actually lived in my leather jacket last autumn therefore I am so happy that the time of year has come back around. So many stores have amazing ones so I am on the lookout! I am particularly loving fur around collars such as number 4 and 5 but ah the price... A quilted one (6) is also high on my list. Coloured leather has been entering the shops such as number 2 which I love but do not know if I could pull off, however the colour of number 3 is different but would still be easy to wear. So many different types of leather jackets to choose from!

Update: New Flat, Job and No Internet

So many exciting things have happened in the past week! Charlotte and I finally got the keys to our new flat on Friday so between moving back to Aberdeen and not having internet yet (so hard to cope without) I have been a bit absent from the blogging world. Right now I am at my boyfriends flat to steal his internet and line up some blog posts! The next two weeks will feel so long without internet.. Anyway I have had fun doing up my new room, just a few more things to buy for it. I'm going to add a white fluffy rug and pillows, oh and a fancy new light shade. Here is my room so far:

I also got a new job at Schuh which I love so far. Queue the many new purchase posts to come! So hard to choose my first pair of work shoes though, I'm thinking Vans or some Nike Roshe Runs?

What have you been up to?

Homebase Homeware

 123456

Recently I have been absolutely loving the home ware in Homebase, specifically the low prices! The lace tea light holders (2) have caught my eye the last two times that I have been in store but sadly I never picked them up. Also it is the same story for the floral tea towels (4) as there is also lovely oven gloves to match (I couldnt find these online unfortunately) An addiction of mine recently are candles and candle holders so I fell in love with the cube one (5) when looking online, it just looks so quirky! Finally who does not love a good vintage style mirror? This one is gorgeous and would be a amazing to own. I honestly recommend having at look online or in store, you might come out with a mega long wishlist just like me!

Autumn Staples - Chelsea Boots

I absolutely love the look of Chelsea boots in winter, its a shame that I have never actually owned any! There are so much choice though - do I go for no heel or heel? what colour? plain or detailed? This post has not answered my questions! I adore number 5 so much and for only £30 they are tempting. The chunky heel is right up my street and of course the colour, you can never go wrong with black. However I also love number 4, the heel height is so much more practical and I love the gold detailing. Then there is number 1 which are such a beautiful colour! I really need to go away from black and change up my wardrobe a bit. As I said - so much choice!

Partylite Woodland Candle Holder

Something that I absolutely love are Partylite parties. If you aren't familiar with what this is, a representative comes along to the party and shows you examples of their products and gives you a catalogue that you can order from. Before I even saw the catalogue I was intrigued by this candle holder, its so beautiful! and I was shocked to find that it was only £20.

It consists of a glass holder and then a purple and orange insert that has images of deer and trees on it. When lit it gives a shadow effect which I just think is so cute, I also find that it makes a room feel really cosy too. Obviously the image above was taken in daylight not giving the full effect but it is even prettier at night. I cant wait to buy more candles for my new flat, being in halls for a year meant that I was not allowed to use them!

Clueless

 Top - ASOS
Skirt - New Look
Kimono - New Look
Shoes  New Look
Necklace - H&M

This skirt totally just reminds me of the film Clueless! I ordered it from the New Look website and I could not be happier with it. Tartan is my new found love! It was only 17.99 which I thought was a great deal. I also ordered the kimono at the same time, I've wanted a black one for ages as it would go with absolutely everything. This only cost £12.99 which is so good for a staple piece. The top was bought ages ago so I couldn't even tell you a price unfortunately! My shoes are my usual ones from New Look that I have mentioned so many times, I cant get enough of them. All of the New Look items will definitely still be available on the website if you are interested!

Autumn Staples - Blanket Capes

I have come to realise that my Wednesday Wishlist posts are becoming very tired plus they make me want to buy so many things! Its time to try something new so I thought why not do weekly Autumn staples posts? First off is blanket capes - I have been seeing these everywhere lately. However I've not been brave enough to try one yet! You can definitely see my love of plaid in this post.. and New Look.

Heeled Ankle Boots For A/W

I am a lover of boots, I get so excited every Autumn as I get to pick out my staple pair. I usually buy flat boots for practicality but this year I have been inclined to buy heeled ones. This just means that I should buy a flat pair and a heeled pair yeah? I'll take any reason to just buy new shoes! Anyway here are some of my picks from various websites:

I have been eyeing up the Kurt Geiger pair (3) for ages! You know me and my chains.. However they are £90 which is a reasonable price to invest in a good pair of boots but I just do not have the money. A slightly cheaper pair are the ones from Dune (1) and these are £55. The picture really does not do them justice, they are so beautiful in person. One of my favourite pairs, which I should add are only £24.99 are these burgundy beauties from New Look (6). I actually owned a pair of burgundy ones last year and wore them so much. Its also a good change from black boots which I usually normally stick to.

Do you get as excited to buy boots as I do?

Makeup Storage Using A Cake Stand

I saw the idea of using a beautifully designed cake stand as a holder for makeup online ages ago and finally bought one! The stand was only around £7.99 from Homebase which I thought was an amazing deal, not only do they have this one but also so much more designs. I kind of want to buy another one to store bathroom products in..  its just so pretty! I actually really recommend Homebase for home ware items as recently I have seen so much there that I want to buy including candles, tea towels and oven gloves. Might just go on a big shopping spree!

Do you shop at Home Base often?

Wednesday Wishlist on A Thursday!

1234

1. I actually have already ordered this skirt and have to say that I love it! I was a bit weary as the material is so thin and thought it would be unflattering but it actually isn't. It may be included in one of my 'Online Purchase - Hit or Miss Posts'.

2. Since getting a flat I have been obsessed with home-ware things. This light is gorgeous and is only around £15 from Homebase which I think is amazing, I will have to get it!

3. Floral covers are my favourite right now and these ones from Argos tick all of my boxes.. well except from the £50.99 price tag. There are so many cheaper alternatives but I just love the strips with the flowers!

4. I really wish I was one of the people who suit playsuits but sadly they are just so unflattering on me. This one from MissGuided is gorgeous and the belt adds that little bit extra, I would totally buy a dress version of this!

Black, Grey and Pink

*Ignore my face, it was very sunny!

Dress - New Look
Jacket - New Look
Shoes - New Look
Necklace - H&M
Bag - Primark

Wow I never realised how New Look based this outfit was! Even though the weather looks great in this photo sadly it wasnt, where I live in Scotland is cold already! However this gave me a chance to wear my new jacket/blazer from New Look which was only around £20. They definitely still have these in store if you want to check it out. My dress, also from New Look, is ancient and its one of these with tshirt sleeves that are black faux leather which I love as its something different. My sandals made an appearance again after they had been put away for a few weeks due to the rain. I love these and will miss wearing them during winter! Whats an outfit from me without a chain necklace? seriously I am addicted. Finally I wore my pastel pink satchel from Primark to add some much needed colour.

Whats the weather like where you live?
