Watching Halloween tutorials on youtube always intrigues me, some people are just so talented! This year I wanted to get in on the action by creating my own gruesome look. I decided to go with a cut throat one as I think that it would look good with the skeleton costume that I have. This was my first time ever doing this and I think it turned out okay, shows how easy it really is! Here is how I did it:
Firstly, you will need liquid latex and fake blood for this. I just got mine online for cheap, google it and I am sure lots will come up.
I applied the latex to the area where the cut was going to be. In order to create the slit a few layers of this had to be applied, I think did around 4. Next, I took my tweezers and created a hole in the dry latex and dragged them along to create the slit. Do this really carefully as you do not want to create a hole in the wrong place. At this point I should have applied foundation and powder to take away the shine from the latex and blend it in to my skin but I sadly completely forgot! The I applied a reddy pink lipstick to my exposed skin, I must have not cleaned the brush properly as it had some black eyeshadow on it however it made the cut look even more real therefore I added more black around the edges. Finally I added a little bit of blood on top of the lipstick and around the edges of the cut and then went on to drip it down my neck. This was just done by applying the blood straight to onto my neck with the applicator and letting it run down. If you would like to know the products that I used on the rest of my face then keep a look out for my next Halloween look!
The latex was a little bit of a pain to remove. At first I tried to peel it off however this hurt a little. I then discovered that it was a lot easier to remove just by using water and soap!
Are you dressing up for Halloween?
