FOTD - Autumn Neutrals

I have already posted my go to neutral autumn look (linked here) however some days when I am feeling extra fancy, I go for a slightly darker feel. These shades of brown shadows have to be my absolute favourite to wear.. I mean you can never own too many can you? For this look I used my trusty Makeup Revolution Iconic 2, I really cannot seem to venture far from it!

Eyes:
For my base I blended the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Dark Pearl all over my lid. I then blended the light purplely shade (5th from left) in to my crease and used it as a transition colour. The slightly gold toned brown (7th from left) was then placed just on my lid. To add more depth, I add a darker brown (second from right) in my outer v and finally a little of the shimmery shade (1st on left) in the centre of my eye lid. I then used my Rimmel Scandaleyes Gel Liner to create a wing. For mascara I used my Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara.

Face:
Foundation - Revlon Colorstay in Ivory
Concealer - Collection Lasting Perfection in shade 1
Highlight - Makeup Revolution Highlighter in Peach Lights
Brows - Sleek Brow Kit in light

Lips:
Liner - NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Nude Beige
Lipstick - Rimmel by Katie in shade 45

Feeling a Bit Lost

As I sit down to write this, I actually have no idea what I am going to say. For once this will be a personal post where words just come rambling out. Recently I have been feeling a bit lost and do not seem to get why. I am sure everyone feels like this at some point in their life but I just wish the feeling was not getting me down as much as it is.

Life right now revolves around uni on Monday, Tuesday and Friday and then work comes along and takes up my Thursdays and Saturdays leaving me with only Wednesdays and Sundays free. I know most people with full time jobs probably get this number of days off but the problem with that is I can never go home to visit my family for more than a night. Its now been about 4-5 weeks since I've seen them and I am getting so homesick. You'd think by my 3rd year of uni that I would get over it.... but obviously not. Nothing ever exciting seems to happen here, maybe that is because I am extremely poor (rent in Aberdeen is ridiculous) and cannot afford to do anything different. Every time the slightest thing goes wrong, which is always, I automatically blame Aberdeen just because I really do not like it here.

This has all brought me on to thinking - why am I even in Aberdeen? I do not enjoy uni or living away from home and none of my close friends live here (except my boyfriend, which is the only thing that like Aberdeen for). I am half way through my course and know that I definitely want a job that is linked to it in the future therefore the only option is to stick it out. I am a bit fed up of feeling grumpy and sad all of the time though.

I also feel a bit lost with my blog. My motivation just does not seem to be there anymore, this is the same with most other aspects of my life.  My sister is giving me her camera as she has got a new one so I am hoping this makes me excited to blog again. Do not get me wrong, I still love blogging but I just never seem to have any ideas for posts that I am happy with. I think another thing that has made me lose my blogging mojo is that my followers has not really moved for months.. I know blogging is not about followers but it just gets me down a little as it kind of makes me feel like my content is not that great.

Anyway on wards and up wards? Hopefully my life will begin to feel more exciting soon. Starting from now, I am definitely going to put a lot more effort into my blog. Motivation best come along quickly!

Current Top 5 Products

This is definitely my holy grail brow product and for only £4.99 it is quite a bargain. It can either be used on top of brow powder which creates a really defined look but also just by its self which keeps my brows in place and also keeps them looking natural. I have actually wrote a review on this product so if you are interested and would like to hear more, click here!

I have used this product nearly every day that I have worn eye shadow since I purchased it in February. It is beyond pigmented and makes the perfect base. The price is a bit steep for me, this being £19, however I would definitely buy another one considering I still have more than half of the product left after using it so frequently! To read my review on this one, click here.

Again, this is something that I use pretty much everyday. It glides on to the lips so smoothly and is such a gorgeous colour. I also love how it goes with so many lipsticks that I own therefore a million different liners is not needed. My lips are tiny and this pencil makes it easy to over draw them a little while still making them look natural which is a massive bonus to me!

Now this is the priciest product at £31 and there is most likely a cheaper option out there... but I just love it! The product applies as a creme and dries to a powder making it a dream to blend with either my real techniques sponge or a contour brush. It is also easy to build and the colour is beautiful, not leaving me looking muddy.

I had never tried a highlighter before buying this and simply went for one from Makeup Revolution because of the tiny price of £3. It is such a great quality product and is even just beautiful to look at. When applied it leaves a slight bit of glitter on the cheek along with a gorgeous sheen. Definitely worth investing £3!

Bags Perfect for Autumn

                                                               123456789

Gone are all the pastel bags on my wishlists - they have be replaced with others featuring autumn tones instead. I have got to admit, this is the season that I love most because the colours that usually are in trend are lovely. Black is my go to colour when buying a bag but the offers this year are definitely making me divert. At the top of my list is this gorgeous burgundy and snake print bag from River Island (1). I have actually wanted it for a while but my student funds are restricting me. The burgundy theme continues in number 6, this one is from my work and constantly tempts me. I am also loving the khaki trend right now too and number 8 definitely would fit right into my wardrobe!

It's Finally Chunky Boot Time

Dress: Boohoo
Cardigan - New Look
Boots - New Look

It is finally time to dig out my favourite type of footwear again - that being chunky boots. These beauties were a recent purchase from New Look and only cost £29.99 which I could not pass up. They are suede which is something a little different for me as all of my other boots are faux leather. The heel is actually a little higher than I am used to with my other everyday boots, however they are still so comfy! I shopped from 12pm until 8pm and my feet only just started to hurt a little at the end. That is a massive plus. I teamed them with a bodycon white and black stripped dress and my new khaki cardi which has a belt to cinch in the waist. These items of clothing teamed together created such a relaxed, comfortable outfit as both of the fabrics are so light weight and do not restrict me. I am definitely going to be wearing these boots most of winter!

Are you excited for boot season?

Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer

The Makeup Revolution stand is something that I can never resist taking a peep at in Superdrug, it is so hard to leave without something due to the amount of bloggers that highly rate their products. On this particular trip I left with a Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer in the shade Keep Lying for You. At only £3 it was definitely worth trying!

I have not tried the Lime Crime Velvetines but I can imagine this product would be a great dupe at a fraction of the cost. Makeup Revolution have definitely created an amazing product here - it goes on so so opaque and dries perfectly matte. The product is so easily to apply too with the help of a lip brush to make clean lines. Another plus for me is that the product stays on for so long however if it does come off (I do not see how) your lips are left stained therefore still providing colour. I can totally see how some people would find this annoying though.

The only negative about this product is that you can really feel the product on your lips. So sad to find a fault is such a pigmented, matte, long lasting product. It clung to the inside of my lips and was so dry there which made eating very uncomfortable. Maybe I just had dry lips? I have no idea but it really made me want to take the lip lacquer off...

Anyway this product is amazing for £3, I now just have to decide if I can handle the horrible feeling on the inside of my lips again. I guess just a lot of exfoliation and lip balm will be needed before I next apply this product!
