Favourite Daytime Spring Lip Colours

I have so many lipsticks yet tend to stick to a select few, I am not the only one right? With Spring arriving, I've decided that its time to drop the dark berry lips and opt for lovely pinks and nudes. Here are my favourite daytime picks, with most being ones that I reach for year after year which shows that I truly love them!

1. MAC's Pink Plaid has to be one of my all time favourites from the brand. This could be down to the matte formula which I absolutely love as it lasts for so long. The shade is a gorgeous cool toned pink which in itself screams spring/summer. In one swipe it is such an opaque colour which I just think is amazing in a lipstick. However I wore this heaps through out the winter too, its just a great all round colour! The only down side is that it is a little bit drying but that is what I expect from a matte formula now... nothing a bit of exfoliating and applying lip balm cannot fix!

2. Next is a lipstick that I have purchased time and time again, this being MAC's Snob. This is the perfect 'barbie pink' in my opinion and has a slight lilac undertone although this is not coming off in the photos. The shade has a satin finish which dries quite matte but is not drying. Again this one goes perfect with so many makeup looks, I also think it compliments my pale skin rather well. I am talking really really pale...

3. This shade is slightly brighter for the daytime but still it can definitely be worn. MAC's Up the Amp is a stunning lavender pink which is an amplified creme and applies so smoothly. During the day I tend to apply this with a light hand and dab it with my finger to lighten it up a bit and for nights out just apply it as usual. I have never actually owned a lipstick similar to this shade before but I am so glad I bought this on a whim!

4.  Now I only bought my Maybelline Colour Drama in Nude Perfection a few months a go and I am in love! It really has not been off my lips recently, the product is so pigmented and lasts for hours. I actually bought it in my desperate attempt to get the Kylie Jenner lip colour and it definitely works for that, especially paired with NYX's liner in Nude Beige. I honestly recommend this combination so much if you are looking for the perfect nude combination!

New Purchases - MAC

My boyfriends lovely mother gave me a MAC voucher for my birthday and I was so excited to spend it! Here is what I got:

First is the Pro Longwear Concealer and the shade I got is NW15. I was actually confused on whether to get the NW or NC but when I asked the lady who worked there her reply was just 'yeah you are definitely N15' and she picked up the warmer tone so I just went with it!The concealer is not absolutely amazing but I still think its really good at covering my under eye circles and blemishes. The only downside is that the pump puts out way too much product! I don't think that I will repurchase it (the collection one is way cheaper and works the same) but I am glad that I have tried it.

I finally got the Phloof! eyeshadow which I featured in my wishlist months ago. Its such a pretty shade that can be worn during the day for a natural look or even for going out at night. I love how reflective it is and I always find light colours like this bring out my green eyes.

The lipstick I got is Flat Out Fabulous and the finish is retro matte. Its the prettiest bright pink with a hint of purple, its actually been described as a bright plum colour. I had never actually heard of it before but when I went into the store it caught my eye and I had to have it! One thing I would say is definitely moisturise your lips before as it is a matte lipstick and can cling to dry areas.

My Favourite Bright Lip Products!

Left to Right - Rimmel by Kate, Elf Lip Stain, Rimmel Apocalips, Inglot, MAC

Bright lips are definitely my go to in summer, I love the look of the bold lip with minimal eye makeup. I usually stick to pinks but at times I am brave and go for red, even though sometimes my pale skin (I don't even tan in summer) just does not agree with the brightness. Here are a few favourites from my collection:

Rimmel by Kate in shade 12 was one of the first red lipsticks that I ventured into. I love this one as its red but has a hint of coral. It goes on very glossy and has a lot of shine to it, this is great as it is not drying in the slightest and does not stick to dry spots. I would say it does not wear as long as a matte lipstick but that's what you expect from one so silky right?

Elf Lip Stain in Red Carpet was a whim buy ages ago! It goes on glossy but dries matte, as you would expect from a lip stain. However I would say it works best with a lip blam over the top as it can be drying. The colour is gorgeous though!

Rimmel Apocalips in Apocaliptic is an amazing bright pink lip lacquer. It feels like a lipgloss therefore it is so comfortable on the lips but it is still so pigmented! I normally find that products like this do not work well on my lips however I love to wear this one, it lasts just that bit longer than normal glossy lipsticks/glosses.

Inglot lipstick in shade 421 is 100% my favourite bright pink lipstick, I wear it almost every time I go out! It is matte therefore it lasts for ages! However it is so matte that you either have to drag it on your lips or use a lip brush. Also because of this it is best to have moisterised lips beforehand. Its just a perfect bright pink that is not too harsh for my skin tone.

MAC lipstick in Saint Germain was my first purchase ever from the company and at the time I regretted it so much as I didn't not realise how bright it was. However since then I have grew to love the bright bubblegum pink! The finish is an amplified creme therefore it is very pigmented and sits perfectly between glossy and matte. I might need to purchase a back up soon!

My MAC Lipstick Collection

I really need to invest in a good camera. I tried my best to take photos but shiny objects and iPhone cameras just do not mix, sorry! However I do think that the true colour of the lipsticks can still be seen so I thought this post was still worth while, here is my MAC lipstick collection!

L-R: Up The Amp, Please Me, Pink Plaid, Lovelorn, Cremecup, Saint Germain, Snob, Viva Glam Gaga

I bought my first MAC lipstick around 3 years ago and instantly fell in love, mainly with the smell! However I was a bit disappointed in my colour choice as I had ordered Saint Germain not realising how neon it is. Being 18 and more daring with my lipstick I have grown to love it, especially for the summer time. I specifically love the 'Amplified' finish as I feel like it is not too glossy (I hate glossy) and stays in place. I also love Up The Amp for this reason too, I picked it out on a whim as I wanted to branch out of my usual pink (as you can see many of my collection are similar shades). I am so glad my boyfriend got me it for Christmas because its my favourite right now!

The other two finishes that I love are 'Matte' and 'Satin' as I feel both also aren't too glossy and wont budge from my lips. The 3 colours that I have in these finishes are definitely my go to shades, especially snob. I just think its the perfect cool toned pink and looks great all year round, this is actually the only lipstick I have ever repurchased!

However I really don't like the 'Cremesheen' or 'Lustre' finish. Its a shame because the three shades that I have in these finishes are so pretty but I just cant bring myself to wear them as I know they are so glossy that they will just slide off my lips within 15 minutes. If you like the glossy finish then you will probably love these! I must have liked it at one point because my Viva Glam Gaga has certainly been used a lot ha ha!

Wednesday Wishlist

1/2/3/4

1. Lately I have been loving tartan dresses with collars! I was walking by Quiz and noticed they had some in the store that would be perfect for day and also night. Hopefully I will be able to purchase one as soon as I have spare money!

2. I have been dying for one of these lip stains for ages! I have seen great reviews on YouTube for this product which just make me want to buy one even more but at £25 the price is pretty steep for me. However there are so many lovely colours in the range I think I might just have to treat myself at some point.

3. This photo does not do this eye shadow justice. Phloof is the perfect lid colour which catches my eye every time I go into the Mac store. Its just so frosty and beautiful!

4. Boyfriend coats are a major trend right now and as always I haven't found the perfect one which I can afford yet (boo!) but this pale blue one from Misguided is lovely! I'm going to keep a look out for a cheaper alternative!

What I Wore: night out #1

I have decided to start a new series of outfits that I wear on nights out as being a student I go out a lot (too much) and constantly have to dress up! I'm one of these people who has to have a new outfit idea every time I go out, it can get annoying and expensive. Recently I've decided I need to start wearing my outfits more than once so the outfit featured in this post was worn last weekend and to a party next month, I'm trying to be good..

I got this dress from New Look last Thursday for only £19.99! Its a lovely navy colour with gold threading throughout it. I especially love the sleeves!

The necklace was also from New Look and was around £8 if I remember correctly. I love this because it can definitely be worn with lots of other outfits!

I also got a lipstick that day from MAC in up the amp. Ah its my new favourite! I don't even have to feel guilty about spending the money because it was an early Christmas present from my boyfriend, bonus!

The shoes I wore are ancient and are from New Look, not the comfiest I must admit.

Here is me at the end of the night looking a little bit worse for wear ha ha! Anyway I hope you enjoyed this post, I will definitely be blogging more often from now on!
