Upcoming Trend: Sheer

Sorry I don't have an outfit today, I honestly haven't been going anywhere that requires a nice one. Also I totally outfit repeated last weekend! Instead I thought I would share an upcoming trend which I love with you and that is sheer detailing - whether it be mesh or transparent plastic. Here are some looks from the spring/summer 2014 catwalks:

Calvin Klein Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Reed Krakoff Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Theyskens' Theory Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Some high street stores/websites are already stocking the trend which is great for the price conscious (like me)! This also means that you can get on top of the trend early. In spring/summer I know I never want to wear heavy fabrics in the heat so this trend is perfect also if you aren't keen on showing  certain parts of your body off a bandeau or vest top can easily be worn underneath. Here are some items of clothing I found online under 'new stock':

Do you think you will be wearing this trend?

Weekly Wishlist #2

I've decided not to do my weekly wishlists on a specific website but instead include various ones. Here are the things I really want to purchase at the moment:

1/2/3/4

1. I have wanted chunky heeled boots that I can wear during the day for ages! They would go with so many things such as skirts, dresses and trousers so I think they would be a great purchase. However the ones pictured are from Topshop and are priced at £70 which is way to high a price point for a poor student like me! I have seen some cheaper versions in Primark which I would rather purchase so look out for them!

2. I am a bit late on the band wagon but I cant get the look of a tartan pinafore dress with a cropped black tee under out of my head!

3.I am sad to say I have never tried Real Techniques brushes! I have been looking into them lately as I am addicted to watching the Pixiwoo sisters on YouTube and I think I have convinced myself to purchase the core collection as all of the brushes are ones I would gladly use.

4. River Island bags are beautiful! I am in love with this satchel due to the neutral colour with the pop of pink on the inside. I always go into the store and just stare at the bags hoping that one day Ill have enough spare money to buy one!

Whats on your weekly wishlist?

Clinique chubby stick review

I received a chubby stick in the shade 'woppin' watermelon' for Christmas and I have got to admit at first I was not too impressed with it.. however I have grown to love it!

As you can tell the colour is not red like you would expect from the name but instead appears to be a vivid pink. However it applys as a natural pink, something which I really did not like at first but now I love it as it can be applied literally anywhere without a mirror! It is described as a 'moisturising lip colour balm' so I think that I was expecting too much from the product.

My chubby stick lives in my handbag 24/7. I used to be addicted to using chapsticks whenever I could but this product has quickly replaced them due to how moisturising it is. It also feels exactly like a chapstick and is comfortable on the lips.

The obvious downside is that they are not very pigmented, however that can be expected from a moisterising balm. Also they can be bought here for £17 which may be too pricey for many people.. including me! There are many cheaper alternatives such as L'Oreal's glam shin balmy glosses for £6.99 and also Revlon's colourburst matte and lacquer balms for £7.99, none of which I have tried but definitely plan to!

Have you tried any of these products?

What I Wore: night out #5

As usual I went out on Saturday night.. and I'll be going out this weekend so look out for another outfit. I was really proud of this outfit because the dress only cost me £16.99 and at the time Missguided had 20% off! Here's the outfit:

Helping my niece be stylish ha!

The dress can be bought here. It is seriously over sized so a belt is a must but this also means that I can wear it on the days that I seriously dislike my body because it covers everything. It is also so comfy as well! As usual I wore my black Boohoo heels (I left my others in Aberdeen).

My necklace can be bought here and is from Topshop. It is matte grey and I love it! However it does smell strongly of play dough which is strange..

Hope you enjoyed!

My New Favourite: Etsy

I have just discovered Etsy and I have got to say that I love it! You can buy so many handmade items, my favourite thing to search for on the site is jewellery. The only downside is that shipping can be pricey due to most items being from America which also means shipping time is usually between 4-6 weeks which is a long time to wait.

I recently bought this beautiful necklace for my mum. It consists of a tree pendent then 2 plates with all of her daughters and grand children's names, I thought it was cute! The necklace can be bought here and is only $28 USD which converts to only £17.05 however I did upgrade the chain which was an extra £7.30 but that still is not expensive at all! Etsy is definitely a great place to buy gifts, just order well in advance!

Do you ever shop on Etsy?

What I Wore: to uni

This outfit is typical of me: a cosy jumper, black trousers and converse. I took these photos just as I was leaving (I was running late as usual) hence the bad photos and mess behind me, sorry!

My teal jumper is from New Look, its so cosy but a bit on the short side which is kind of annoying. The disco pants are from Topshop and I love them! you just cant beat trousers that look lovely and are comfy! I also wore my converse because I love the contrast of the white against the black trousers. As usual I wore my favourite necklace which is this one with numerous chains and its from Primark, my first place to look for jewellery!

I hope you enjoyed!

Recent clothes haul

I got a few pieces of clothing for my Christmas and also I bought some myself so I thought I'd show you guys. Ill start with a few things that my mum gave me:

I constantly hinted to my mum how much I wanted a black fluffy jumper and I finally got one! I know its from New Look and I think it was £22.99 as I've saw the same jumper in a different colour for that price. I've been bad by wearing it to bed.. but its just so cosy!

This jacket is from Asda believe it or not! I saw it ages ago when I was with my mum but didn't buy it because I had no money but my mum being the dear that she is went back and bought it for me.

These shoes are from New Look and are beautiful! I recently saw them in the sale for £8! I also got a new pair of white converse from my mum as she thought my old ones were too 'tatty' ha ha!. I forgot to take a photo but I'm sure you know what they look like.

I wanted these disco pants from Topshop for ages so they were actually the only thing I asked for for Christmas. They are so comfy and were only £28 which I think is so good for Topshop!

Now on to the things I have bought:

I got this cut out shoulder shirt from Boohoo. I wasn't sure if I loved it or hated it but it was only £10 in the sale so I bought it anyway, typical me.

I love this jumper! I walked in to New Look with my sister to find an outfit for her but as soon as I got in the door I saw this jumper and picked it up, only £10 in the sale!

Hope you enjoyed!

What I Wore: night out #4

I managed to steal the most perfect play suit from my sister on Saturday but I ended up not liking it which I was very upset about. The reason I didn't like it is because the shorts part were really baggy and not very flattering but as I was determined to wear it I just put a skirt on top! here was is the playsuit:

It can be bought here for £24.99! I still think its worth the price even if I cover up the bottom ha ha!

On to my actual outfit:

I wore a skirt which I feature way to often on my blog but it just goes with everything! Its my quilted, shiny skater skirt from River Island. On my feet (which you cant see) is also something that I feature way to much on my blog - my black Boohoo heels.. go on any other going out post of mine and I guarantee you will see them.

Im hoping to spend the next few weekends in as going out all the time is doing no good on my body and also my bank balance, we shall see!

Naked 3 Palette: swatches and review

I was so excited when the post man turned up to my door with the parcel that contained my Naked 3 palette! My boyfriend bought me it as a surprise but he caved in and told me early.. I can always get secrets out of people ha ha! Anyway here are some photos:

The palette can with 4 samples of the different primer potions, which I was surprised by but I am still completely fine with.. I was just expecting a lipgloss or small primer potion like the other palettes. I am really impressed with the brush that came free with it also, its actually usable!

I have swatched the colours in the same order that they are in the palette, also I do not have any primer under them but they are still so pigmented! I love the mixture of mattes and shimmers as you can create so many different types of looks. I particularly love the colour 'Nooner', its matte and is the perfect colour for the crease and can be used to make a natural or more dramatic look. 'Darkside' is also the perfect colour for a darker crease, however its shimmery. 'Blackheart' really stands out to me as its a dark brown with red and purple subtle sparkles.. so unique but it is hard to blend. There are plenty of lighter colours for the lid aswell which makes the palette perfect!

The only negative point I have about the palette is that a few of the shimmery shadows are so powdery! Particularly dust as you can see from the swatch. It is a really pretty colour though and can be worked with.

I definitely think the palette is worth £36 as there are so many shadows which can be used to create day time and night time looks. Also there is a very diverse range of colours. I definitely plan to purchase the Naked 2 palette as soon as possible!

What I Wore: New years eve

On new year I went to a local hall with my family so I decided to dress quite smart for some reason. It was not a very good night though, I ended up leaving early to go to my friends house! Anyway here is the outfit I wore:

The dress is from MissGuided and can be bought here. The best thing is that its only £19.99! Plus everyone needs a LBD. On top I wore my fluffy H&M cardigan which I am in love with!

I wore my black heels as usual (the are featured in almost every going out post I have). For jewellery I wore my layered Primark necklace and my Pandora Bracelet. The bag is ancient and is from Newlook.

Hope you all had a good new year!
